Who We Are
Lakeside United Methodist Church has been a Christ-led presence in the Pine Bluff area for over a century. Built in 1889, it is a beautiful gothic style church originally constructed in what was then the outlying community of Lakeside. It has been an icon of faith, hope and love nestled in the heart of Pine Bluff for over 133 years.
The heart of Lakeside United Methodist Church is it's people. From our active maturing servants to our young Latino families, the people called Lakeside are a vibrantly diverse congregation who seek to live and love like their Savior, Jesus Christ. Lakesiders are committed to continuing in the faithful footsteps of the saints before them by living lives committed to Christ through worship, fellowship, Bible study and loving and serving their neighbors.
The Lakeside Story Continues is a video presentation of the history of Lakeside United Methodist Church. Created by Lakeside member George Mitchell, the video is based on the book The Lakeside Story, written by Nola Anderson in 1986 and continues the Lakeside Story to the present-day.
What We Believe: We believe in the triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that "God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) We believe that Jesus Christ was the Son of God who died for our salvation. We believe that the Holy Spirit continues to reveal God through Jesus Christ to us today. We believe that the church is the body of Christ called to continue Christ's work of making disciples of all nations for the transformation of the world.
Services: Early Worship at 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel. Sunday School at 9:15 am in the Educational Building. Sunday Worship at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. However, if you are unable or if you are not comfortable with being in a live service, you can still Join Us for Online Worship live on Facebook or you may Watch Our Service at a time that works better for you.
